Lo que nos faltaba!!

Ahora ponen los elefantes a pintar y encima se sacan una pasta porque venden los dibujos por un dineral (entre 250 y 700 euros el dibujito)! :mad:

He visto el video en youtube y encima a la gente le encanta "que monos!" ; "que pasada!", pero casi nadie se percata de lo cruel que debe ser para estos pobres animales: los torturan, los mantienen presos y al final consiguen que los elefantes hagan lo que se les pida.:(

De verdad que no hay justicia joder!

Pues si es verdad!!! yo me quedé flipado cuando lo ví, hasta colgé el video en un blog que tengo porque me pareció flipante, aludiendo por supuesto que matar a un elefante debería tener condena como si de un humano se tratase!!! y justo un segundo después pensé en las barbaridades que habrían hecho con ellos hasta lograr que lleguen a pintar!!!
Esto me dice dos cosas:
1ºLos elefantes tienen inteligencia en cierto modo, ya no hay duda ninguna!!! incluso más que algunos humanos que conozco yo por ahí.

2ºLlegará algún animal alguna vez y con los años a desarrollar razonamientos antes de que los extingamos a todos??? Pues evolutivamente algunos animales llegarán a tener comportamientos de comunicación y colaboración entre ellos más complejos que ahora, pero,...¿¿Les dará tiempo??¿¿los someteremos los humanos más aún a nuestra voluntad cada vez que algo como esto ocurre?? una pena la verdad!!

juerr... como muy bien dijo natalia millan en un programa de estos de tienes talento, el animal no sabe que hace ahí ni le interesa, así pues no puede transmitir arte y ella aborrecia las actuaciones con animales, independientemente de que fueran mejor o peor tratados. no las aceptaba y punto.

Bueno, es bastante parecido a un circo, un elefante "educado" para entretenimiento humano. Dónde habrán quedado los Picasso...

si no lo veo no lo creo!!! ya no saben que hacerles a los animales...que será lo proximo?(yo me e kedado alucinando cuando e visto el video, nunka pense q pudieran pintar algo q no fuese abstracto...)bueno...tengo una sensacion..de asombro e indignacion

Contacté con una tienda online que vende esas pinturas y les dije que no me parecia nada bien promocionar eso y bla bla...

Me contestaron en el acto lo suguiente: (ya, lo siento por el inglés, lo voy a seguir traduciendo... y si alguien se anima, pues adelante! ;) )

Compartimos su inquietud por el tratamiento de los elefantes y queremos compartir también todo lo que sabemos acerca de estos increibles elefantes.

Estamos en contacto con un médico del Elephant Conservation Center en Lampang, especialista de los paquidermos de la Queen's Foundation y con varios veterinarios locales. No ignoro los métodos de adiestramiento de elefantes que usted no ha mencionado en su email. Hay cada vez mayor consciencia de que los jovenes elefantes pueden ser adiestrados con técnicas basadas en la recompensa en lugar de utilizar métodos brutales.

Pero tenemos que elegir entre varias alternativas:

Podemos dejar de vender el "arte de los elefantes", sabiendo que se les ha tratado bien y que no se les ha obligado a pintar. Pero habra menos consciencia de las alternativas que existen en cuanto al método de aprendizaje. Hay que mencionar que los elefantes siguen siendo una fuente principal de ingresos para sus propietarios y hay pocas probabilidades para que esto cambie. Por consecuente, los elefantes pintores seguiràn, como desde hace décadas, siendo entrenados en condiciones crueles.

O BIEN

Podemos utilizar esta tendencia mediatica para captar la atencion del publico hacia la inteligencia de estos animales, recompensar economicamente los sitios donde los tratan bien y proporcionar incentivos para reformar las "bases de entrenamiento" donde utilizan métodos crueles.

Durante siglos, los hombres han controlado a los elefantes estableciendo una relacion de castigo corporal/recompensa y el animal es consciente de que la desobediencia supondràun duro castigo.


Nos parece triste y cruel tal método de entrenamiento y deseamos que todos los animales sean libres y salvajes.

Hay varios métodos de entrenamiento y muchas cosas que un elefante puede hacer si ha aprendido a ser obediente. En nuestra base, solo pintan unos cuantos elefantes porque no a todos les interesa pintar. No se les obliga a pintar y no torturamos o pegamos a ningun animal. Y al contrario que en otros campos, no hay restricciones en cuanto a las fotos o videos que se puedan realizar en nuestras instalaciones. Todo apunta que nuestras elefantes gozan de salud mental y que disfrutan de los aplausos del publico después de sus prestaciones.

When man decides to dominate another creature there is, often times, an exerted process involving pain and reward. Whether it is another man, dog, horse, lion, elephant etc. The degree of suffering/torture depends on the will of the creature and the determination of the captor. Most elephants that are not free to be in the wild – most elephants that are in regular contact with man have gone through a crushing and at times bloody process of breaking the wild spirit and establishing a tolerable relationship with man. After the relationship has been established and the elephant has a learned the pain/reward relationship with the owner, learning additional skills can be reward based. It’s been going on for thousands of years.

Elephants in most zoos, circuses, elephants that are ridden by man, that provide logging operations – most have gone through this breaking-of-the-will process. Maybe someday, all of the elephants can return to their natural habitat and be truly free of man.


There are thousands of elephants in Thailand, most are privately owned and are used to generate income for the owner. There are not enough ‘free’ conservation camps that are funded by external sources and the available natural habitat is shrinking as man expands civilization.

Along with many others, we have a plan and believe that we can help to make things better for the people and the elephants. The plan involves:

1. Educating the villagers and training them to produce non-elephant based products.

2. Establish humane standards for the treatment of the elephants and reward the elephant camps that are humane and careful in their treatment of the elephants.

Most elephants do not have the temperament, skill, or interest in painting. Remember, the owner/trainer has already established a relationship with the elephant. For some elephants, painting is just another activity. As part of the training process, the trainer shows the elephant basic brush strokes. The trainer loads the brush with the desired color and the elephant proceeds to make the learned stroke. Each piece of art is unique as the elephant has total control of the brush.


Elephants have been painting for many years and some elephants have been forced to paint at some camps. The elephant art that we represent is done by talented elephants, which were not tortured or abused to learn to paint. The elephants actually seem pleased with the applause of the audience and of course the bundles of sugarcane and bananas after the painting is completed. The painting process actually provides needed stimulation for the elephants in lieu of just standing around in a confined space or hauling tourist through the forest.

A few years ago, a foreign tourist association advised people to not go to the elephant camps because of the inhumane way in which the elephants had their wild spirit broken. The well-intentioned empathy with the suffering of the elephants actually resulted in less income for the people and even worse treatment for the elephants. A balanced approach to all of the issues is needed

Selling the elephant art is not what we started out to do nor is it the primary focus of our efforts to make the world a better place. However, the money this good camp receives from the sale of one piece of art far surpasses an entire day of giving tourist rides through the jungle.

When she feels like it, our primary elephant paints, at most, twice a day and she is no longer used to provide rides through the jungle. Years ago, she had a horrible introduction to man and we truly wish that she could be set free to be wild again but domesticated elephants do not survive well on their own upon release back into the wild.

Meanwhile, we can help support the villagers by purchasing their handmade products AND rewarding the humane camps that take good care of the elephants as we work together with the Thai people to provide a long term solution.

estoy viendo un documental de la tele, un tipo que rescata elefantes en sumatra y bali y los cuida y adopta. los elefantes pintan (no con la perfección del video este, si no cualquier cosa sin sentido) y vende los cuadros. con el dinero los alimenta, los cuida, y trabaja activamente contra la deforestación del pais para que los elefantes salvajes conserven su hábitat. argumenta que es necesario sacar el dinero con el trabajo de estos elefantes, para ayudarles a ellos (teniendo en cuenta que fueron maltratados y sacados de su hábitat en su dia y posteriormente rescatados por esta gente) y a sus hermanos salvajes. por lo que se ve los tratan muy bien, cada elefante tiene su propio cuidador incluso. qué opináis? el fin justifica los medios en este caso?

el jefe acaba de cabrearse mucho porque los conductores han parado durante el viaje y eso afecta negativamente a los elefantes que son transportados del sitio donde los rescatan al refugio!!! jur jur
