Steamforged Games recently announced collaboration with game developer Jagex which will see the release of RuneScape to tablets later this year. The MMORPG will get not just one but two brand new tabletop versions: a board game, and a tabletop role playing game. The board game will be available on Kickstarter sometime this year, while the tabletop RPG will be available in stores immediately.


The two games will draw their an inspiration from RuneScape's fantasy realm, Gielinor. The games will feature various characters and adventures, and locations that the MMORPG has made famous through its lengthy time. The board game can send up of five gamers on an mission-based journey through the world of Gielinor.


The official press announcement by Steamforged, players can "craft and upgrade equipment as well as upskill their characters make special dishes, communicate with NPCs and OSRS Buy Goldtest their skills while exploring different areas of the globe".
