    El primero, no sé si soy yo pero no encuentro el método de estudio. En el segundo me ha parecido que solamente seguían a un paciente para hacer el estudio. ¿Estoy en lo cierto?

    Ojo, que me parece que plant-based diet no es vegetarianismo ni veganismo. Creo que se refiere a personas que se alimentan con poca carne, pescado, leche y huevos. Pero no veganos, aunque probablemente cercano.

    En el segundo (firmado por el dr McDougall) dice claramente que ha tratado a más de 5000 pacientes durante 28 años con esta dieta. Este médico "receta" dieta en lugar de medicamentos, hay mucha info suya en internet, dirige una asociación vegetariana de hawai.

    No tengo más info, lo vi en fb y me pareció interesante.

    Al contrario quería decir, en el segundo no hay método de estudio y en el primero sólo siguen a un paciente.

    Basandose en esos estudios, que no son pocos, el autor del articulo recomienda la dieta "basada en plantas" para prevenir o curar toda clase de enfermedades. Y a McDougall le parece que peca de prudente, asi que matiza:

    Sr. Director:
    Nos gustaría dar las gracias a Phillip Tuso, MD, y asociados por su revisión exhaustiva de la evidencia que apoya el valor de las dietas basadas en vegetales para prevenir y curar la epidemia de las enfermedades causadas por el exceso de nutrición que están enfermando a millones de personas en los EE.UU. y paralizando nuestra La economía de la nación. Sin embargo, contraproducente para los autores de gol que "los médicos deberían considerar la recomendación de una dieta basada en plantas para todos sus pacientes" es de los autores de la dedicación de una parte sustancial de su artículo a la posibilidad de deficiencias de nutrientes seleccionados.
