AFTER 10YRS TRYING FOR KIDS, VEGGIE SCOFFS McDONALD´S AND HAS TRIPLETS
By Andy Crick
A LIFELONG vegetarian who tried and failed to have kids for more than ten years finally had triplets - after gorgin on McDONALD´S.
Laura Dixon couldn´t conceive naturally and then suffered two unsuccessful attempts at IVF.
Fearing her third treatment was her last chance, Laura 34, decided to boost her protein levels by tucking into meat - and lots of it.
During the early stages of pregnancy she would wolf down a McDonald´s breakfast
AND an extra Sausage McMuffin every morning.
The PA would the creave meat in the middle of the night - often booting hubby Tim, also 34, out of bed to fetch more. After guzzling six meals a day, including chicken, ribs and bacon, Laura, from Chelmsford, Essex, gave birth to healthy triplets Mia, Max and Mason, now 14 months.
She said: "Despite never eating meat, I craved it. My husband regularly had to go to Nando´s with me as well."
Laura suffered from endometriosis and polycystic ovaries which stopped her getting pregnant for a decade.
She turned to IVF but her first round was abandoned when her ovaries became swollen. She suffered a miscarriage eight weeks into the second.
Laura said: "Meat could be one of the reasons I carried all three to full term" Se has stopped eating it but still goes to McDonald´s - for a veggie wrap and fries.
Sun doctor Carol Cooper believes vitamin B12 -in meat- and zinc could have made the difference. She said: "When se was veggie, she may have had a borderline deficiency in some nutrients which experts believe you need."
