But you can support a drastic reduction of the human population and don't have children as well. So from the practical point of view it's the same.

It would be absurd to believe that everybody in the world will follow this movement. So either you support the extinction or just a population decrease, don't breed! The total impact of your decision will be the same (because we're a minority).

I would say:
"It's interesting to me because in many occasions I've thought about not having children and maybe adopting them instead, because we are too many people in the world and the world isn't infinite. And there are too many children that need somebody, so... "

I can also be wrong, of course. I would gladly admit corrections.

I would say:
