Our veggie kid today is six-year-old Logan B.! From his mom: “[Logan] was vegetarian since conception and made the choice, on his own, to become vegan on March 8, 2011 (I became vegetarian in 1982 and went vegan in March 2008, when Logan was three.)” Go Logan! Congrats on becoming vegan. Also, re: the drawing he’s holding, it’s a cow and a calf separated by a line because, “the calves are separated from their moms.” Oh boy, we’ve got a thinker! Love it.
What is your favorite food?
Logan: Blueberries
What is your favorite kind of birthday cake?
Logan: Strawberries on it, with strawberry icing and strawberry cake, with a cherry on the top. [Ed. note: kind of intense!]
Why are you vegan?
Logan: Because it is good for me and because it is good for the animals and it doesn’t hurt any animals.
Do you like being vegan? Why?
Logan: Yes because of the yummy foods and because I feel good about it because it is good for me.
Is it ever hard to be vegan?
Logan: It was at first when I started being vegan, but now it isn’t. Now it just seems normal.
What do your friends think about you being vegan?
Logan: I’m not sure. [Classmate] Kelby said, “I’m going to try not to eat milk or eggs.” [Ed. note: yay! Convert them all!]
What is your favorite animal? Why?
Logan: A Tyrannosaurus Rex, a dog and a hyena. Because I like them just because they are a dinosaur, a dog and a hyena. [Ed. note: Word. Sound reasoning.]
Do you like pink dinosaurs? Can you draw one for us? We would love it!
Logan: No. No. [Mom note: Sorry about that!] [Ed. note: s’ok! I still love you guys!]
