VACANCY FOR FINANCE OFFICER AND OFFICE MANAGER ( VEGAN SOCIETY U.K.)



Applications are invited for the vacancy of Finance Officer and Office Manager.



The successful applicant will report to the CEO and Treasurer.

This is a permanent office-based role working a 37½-hour week Monday to Friday but may involve occasional weekend work.



The applicant should be experienced at maintaining accounts.

Knowledge of Access Dimensions Lite for the accounts and Sage Payroll would be an advantage but training will be provided if necessary.

Responsibilities will include:

Maintaining the purchase ledger and general ledger, including all reconciliations and reports

Processing the monthly payroll

Maintaining holiday and lieu-day allocations

Preparing Gift-Aid claims

Processing direct debits

Processing VAT returns

Producing the monthly bank reconciliation

Credit control

Preparing management accounts

Ensuring that the procedures for purchase-order authorization, receipting against invoices and authorization of payment are followed

Ordering general office supplies, arranging servicing of equipment and dealing with deliveries

Supervising office-cleaning arrangements

Occasional work at festivals and exhibitions, which are sometimes at weekends and may require an overnight stay (lieu time off will apply)



The applicant must adhere to a vegan diet for the duration of employment with The Vegan Society.



Salary scale £15,500 to £18,500 dependent on experience and qualifications.
